Dress: Topshop. Bag: Accessorize. Boots: Dorothy Perkins.
There’s something about this dress that makes you feel like a little rag doll – in the best possible way, of course. The empire line shape and the cutesy collar – complete with that lush little frill – take a simple, easy dress into something I couldn’t wait to wear.
I’ve had this dress for months now, but due to the hibernation of my inner domestic goddess (she’s in there, somewhere), it was rendered unwearable due to the level of creases and crumples it arrived with. Seriously, like a dish-rag. But something in me clicked and I went full steam ahead (pardon the pun) to get this little beauty up and running. I’m so pleased I did!
Sure, this isn’t the easiest dress to wear; the previous crease level made me very wary of how I was sitting all day long, in case I ended up crumpling it all up again, but I think that will wear off. Otherwise, this is a seriously comfy dress that takes inspiration from all of my favourite things – the 60s, pretty little rag dolls and Alexa Chung. What more could you want?
The dress is also super easy to build an outfit round (tights? Check. Boots? Check. Done.). I can definitely see this becoming a new favourite for Spring too, paired with a classic trench and some perfectly pretty Mary-Janes – I see an Orla Kiely x Clarks spree coming on…
