I love a bit of matchy-matchy. I know not everyone’s a fan, but I see no harm in a little colour coordination every now and again. Hey, if it’s good enough for the Queen…

On paper, matching my top to my coat to my lipstick to my bag to my nails might sound a bit nuts, I grant you. But I think these little pops of red actually work pretty well in this outfit as a whole; these amazing black dungarees (are they dungarees? Is this a jumpsuit?) are enough of a statement to detract from any possible crimson overload. I couldn’t wait to pair them with a timeless striped tee, and I thought this red and white striped number might make for a slightly brighter look than a classic monochrome. Of course, once I put on the red top I couldn’t stop, hence the coat/bag/lipstick/nails combos. Whoops.

I actually got the dungarees/jumpsuit from the lovely Carrie at The Bloggers’ Market last month, and they were a real bargain. She very kindly showed me the outfit post that she styled them up for and gave me some great ideas on how to wear them, and at just £10, I was sold! I’ve been itching to wear them, but waiting for a day where I can feasibly go sock-less has taken longer than expected.

So yes, the projection in my mind was Parisian chic, free-and-easy and bright and breezy. I’m not sure if I’ve hit all the targets there, but I really love this outfit and I can see this being a popular option for me in the coming months – OTT colour coordination and all…
