Jacket: French Connection.Top: Zara. Jeans: Primark. Bag: Aldo. Shoes: New Look.

If there’s one thing I’m guilty of, wardrobe-wise, it’s that I have too many Breton stripes. Red ones, black ones, white ones, blue ones – when it comes to these babies, I just don’t know when to stop. I have loose tops, crop tops, jumpers and dresses, but somehow I can always find room for just one more…

That’s exactly how this little Zara number wound up in my possession. I spotted it on Stylist’s website in my lunch break and by the next day, I’d tracked it down and made it mine. (Also let it be known that this might be the first thing ever that I’ve tried on in Zara that wasn’t smeared with foundation. It was meant to be!). It’s the perfect top to make an outfit on the days when you just don’t know what to wear; thrown on with some jeans and some ballet flats, it’s cool and casual and – key word here – comfortable.

I paired my new favourite top with my failsafe black skinnies and my new blue satin ballerina flats, which I am a little bit obsessed with. Something about satin shoes makes me feel like a princess. I also dug out this ancient Aldo bag, which is a bit battered and bruised, but somehow that makes me love it all the more.

And there we have it, an ideal outfit for lazing around or taking in the day – or the lunch hour, as demonstrated here…
