It’s the most wonderful time of the year – yes, that’s right – it’s time for Christmas shopping!
For me, the preparation and the run-up to Christmas is the best bit; baking Christmas food, making Christmas crafts, decorating the tree and buying presents are just too much fun. I like to start thinking about Christmas presents around September time – that is, I start writing down ideas for gifts and keeping a note of anything I spot around this kind of time. I like to save the actual shopping until the lights are up and the festivities are in full swing!
But now’s the time to start preparing; the shops are festooned with fairy lights, our flights home for Christmas are booked and the John Lewis ad has aired, so here we are: the Frocks & Flowers Christmas Gift Guide!
I’ll be starting with the perfect gifts for Girlie Girls but stay tuned for the rest of the series, coming over the next few weeks.
I’d definitely class myself in this category – basically, look on this gift guide as my personal wishlist (bear that in mind, if you’re family/a friend!).
I love these Desmond & Dempsey pyjamas
, I feel like they’d make such a chic present. Plus, the store offer a monogramming service, so you can get each gift personalised for the recipient – it’s just so classy. I particularly love this navy set with the white piping.
For party girls, have you ever seen anything like this clutch bag
?! It’s shaped like a fan and absolutely smothered in beads; it’s the glitziest party bag I have ever seen. Perfect for all of those New Year parties and ladies who love to dress up!
Personally, I’m obsessed with the black satin cat-eye sleep mask
; I just think it’s the cutest gift. The perfect stocking filler for sophisticated sleepyheads!
I absolutely love getting a new diary for Christmas to start the new year afresh with, and I haven’t found any that are prettier than this gorgeous rose-gold leather-bound journal
from Anthropologie. It’s pricey, yes, but can you really put a price on memories?! That’s me hinting why someone should buy me this.
These cashmere lounge pants
are just the ultimate in luxury; can you honestly think of anything more indulgent? I love everything about these (besides the price, but that can’t be helped) and I think they would make the most special gift for the lady in your life who needs to just chill. And there’s nothing better to do whilst chilling in cashmere lounge pants than reading a good book, and I can recommend the very best; Little Women even starts at Christmas, for goodness’ sake. It’s a gorgeous read for any girl, and this Rifle Paper Co. edition
is just too pretty to hide away.
A real indulgence is a delicious candle, and I think it’s such a nice present to give a lady you love at Christmastime. You can’t get much more indulgent than a Diptyque candle
, and I personally love the Freesia fragrance. They are a pretty pricey gift at £40 each, but Diptyque now also sell half-size versions at £20, which are much more purse-friendly but no less luxurious.
Finally, these beautiful pink leather pom-pom gloves would be a welcome gift under any Christmas tree this year – cosy and oh-so pretty!
