I’ll admit that I’m quite the TK Maxx fan. It’s a treasure trove of discontinued beauty bits alongside new-season finds, designer clothes at seriously snipped prices, and mounds of homeware that I just can’t get enough of. Barely a week goes by without me dipping into our local store to see what I can find, and so far this season, I’ve found it to be the very best place for Christmas shopping.
Whoever you’re buying for, I can guarantee you’ll find something they’ll absolutely love for Christmas, as well as gorgeous decorations and homeware bits. I’m going to share with you a few bits and pieces I’ve bought for my loved ones so far – don’t worry, they won’t be reading this!
Everyone loves a candle, right? TK Maxx offers hundreds of different brands, but I was swayed by this enormous Parks Aromatherapy candle, in Wild Fig, Cassis & Orange Blossom. It’s a triple-wick candle in a beautiful glass jar, and it smells incredible. We’ve only burned this once but it burns so evenly, with no wax wastage, and the scent lasted well into the next day. It also comes in a lovely presentation box, making it a gorgeous gift. I can’t remember quite how much this was but it was less than £20. I’ve also spotted This Works candles for £12.99, and Neom aromatherapy candles for £19.99 in a couple of branches near us – well worth stocking up on for gifts!
Decorations-wise, I’m sticking to gold, white and grey this season. I was going to have a traditional wreath, but my magpie tendencies were drawn to this super sparkly gold glitter heart. I can’t wait to hang this on our front door, and it was just £2.99.
I was looking for something for my nan when I spotted this beautifully-presented china teacup set. I know my nan was lamenting not having any nice china anymore, so I’m hoping this gift soothes that for her. It’s a set of two white and gold painted china teacups and saucers, presented in this gorgeous box. The set was just £9.99, which I think is a great bargain. I’ve seen lots of these sets in a couple of branches, and there’s lots of designs too.
For stocking-fillers, I picked up a couple of soaps from Scottish Fine Soaps; I love this brand anyway and TK Maxx sell so many variations. I love that they come in these fun little tins, and the quality of the soaps is so good. I chose the lemon and bluebell scents, and both smell absolutely gorgeous. I’m pretty tempted to keep them for myself! There’s lots of festive scents too, such as cinnamon and gingerbread, which I might pop back for.
On our last trip to TK Maxx, Lewis and I found a whole rail full of new-season Superdry jumpers. Lewis is notoriously good at finding amazing bargains on clothes at TK Maxx, whereas I’m never quite so lucky. We were both so surprised to find such new stock half price in the store, and as a result, Lewis bought a jumper for himself, and I bought the other one he liked as a Christmas gift. As you’d expect from Superdry, the quality is fantastic, but the price was the real clincher – £29.99 instead of £60!
Alongside these gifts, I picked up a couple of bits for myself. How could I resist? I found this Stila eyeshadow in ‘Copper’ for just £2.99 instead of £12, and had to have it. The colour is absolutely stunning and will be so perfect for the festive season, and the formula is buttery soft and super blendable. (I also found a Convertible Color cream blush for £3, but the shade was wrong – I have hope that I’ll find Geranium one of these days). In my last few trips, I’ve spied more and more Emma Hardie bits (not the infamous Cleansing Balm yet) and I couldn’t resist the Amazing Face Luxurious Body Cleanser and cloth set, especially when it was just £5 – more than £20 off the RRP!
Back to those magpie tendencies, these sparkly silver glitter coasters jumped out at me for our Christmas table – how pretty?! They are leather backed, and were £4.99 – again, more a present for me, but they’ll definitely add a touch of glamour to our dining table on the big day!
Finally, I picked up our cards and wrap too, and I am in love with them. I chose super-simple matte grey cards, emblazoned with ‘Merry’ in gold and white, which I adore; I’m thinking about keeping one to frame as a decoration! I also found the perfect wrapping paper set, featuring gold metallic paper, and versions with spots and stripes. We will have glamorous gifts this Christmas!
So far, this is what I’ve picked up for Christmas at TK Maxx, but I am sure there’ll be more in the coming weeks, as I seek out products for hamper gifts and stocking fillers too. If you need any more convincing, I urge you to pop down to your local branch today and see what goodies you can unearth – keep me posted!
