Finally, after weeks of sharing what I think are the best gifts to buy for others, it’s time to take a little look at what I hope will be waiting for me come Christmas morning!
This year has been a year of scrimping and saving; adjusting to crazy London living costs on a low-ish income, as well as buying our flat has meant treats and luxuries have been few and far between. So I’m hoping to find some little treasures under the tree that will mark the end of a very frugal year, and let me feel a bit lavish again.
Rest assured, dear readers, these links have already been shared with those who might want to buy me a gift – this is merely a reminder to them…!
My latest obsession is candles, so I’m really hoping I find one or two beautifully-scented numbers in my stocking this season. I smelled this Angel Food candle when I visited Anthropologie a few weeks back and it’s stuck in my mind, the scent was heavenly; like cakes baking and vanilla and pure sugary goodness. There was a huge variety of scents but this was my favourite – and definitely cheaper than Diptyque!
As I’ve mentioned previously, 2015 has been a momentous year, and one that wasn’t without its difficulties. I saw the Happiness Journal online and thought it would be a lovely way to document the things that really inspire me and cheer me up; too many hours are lost to things we don’t particularly like or even care about, so this journal feels like a solution to working out what I enjoy most and making sure I do more of that. Plus, it would look so pretty on the bookshelf!
We’re still in the process of putting our home together, decoratively-speaking, and I’ve been thinking about this Rifle Paper Co print for months. It would look perfect in our hallway and would cheer me up every morning too!
I’ve mentioned the Lumie Body Clock before in one of my previous gift guides, but it’s something I really want for myself. I HATE dark mornings and waking up in what feels like the middle of the night, so I think this clock would definitely improve life for the six months of the year where this is the case. Practical and maybe a bit boring, but I’m excited about the prospect of this waiting for me come Christmas.
My obsession with Elemis has been ongoing for years now, and my favourite fragrance of all is the Frangipani Monoi collection. I received the body oil and shower cream a few years back and have been in love ever since, only exacerbated by this year’s trip to the House of Elemis. It’s truly the most wonderful floral fragrance, heady and dreamy, and the products are, of course, luxurious and beautiful to use. Imagine my surprise when I clocked this full-size gift set of these heavenly products for £39! Lewis was duly directed to ASOS – I’m only hoping he took the hint…
Pyjamas are a fail-safe gift in my opinion; what girl doesn’t love PJs? I’m hoping for some cosy flannelette pairs from my parents but I’ve also fallen in love with this beautiful blush satin set from ASOS. Slinky and sexy but so, so cute! To match, I’ve spied my dream pair of slippers – the marabou feather heels of dreams!
Finally, it’s not the festive season without a hefty sprinkling of glitter, and this Topshop clutch bag is just the stuff! It matches a pair of pink sparkly shoes I’ve got that I’ve lined up for my festive party wardrobe, so perhaps this bag might end up being a present to myself, so I can wear it for all of the parties coming up. Well, who said I couldn’t treat myself too?
