What I Got for Christmas

I just bloody love Christmas. This year in particular, as it was our first Christmas spent in our own home, and our first time hosting family on the big day too. It was relaxed, cosy, fun and very, very happy.

We spread the giving of gifts over the whole day to make the magic last – it sounds cheesy but I really love giving gifts as well as receiving them, my homemade hampers went down a storm! And luckily for me, this year was a stellar year in terms of the gifts I received – I absolutely love every single one and I’m so grateful for the friends and family who took the time to choose such lovely presents. Since I love them so much, I thought I’d share them with you too.

I’ll start with the gifts that Lewis bought for me, as they’re among my very favourites! He bought me the Rifle Paper Co. print I’ve been hankering after for months, which I was so delighted about – I can’t wait to frame it and hang it in our hallway. He also chose me a book of sayings with the same name, full of positive thoughts to remind me every day to keep looking on the bright side.

Lewis also bought me the most gorgeous scented candle by Temerity Jones, in Wild Rose & Cashmere; the smell is delicious and the packaging is just right, I love it. I also got an Oliver Bonas gold metal letter ‘L’ for our shelves (we definitely save on the monogramming in this house!) and some very cosy cream cable knit bedsocks from H&M. Knowing I’m a Harry Potter fiend, he also bought me the library of additional reading, which includes The Tales of Beedle the Bard and Fantastic Beasts & Where to Find Them. So thoughtful and I can’t wait to get stuck in!

Finally, Lewis absolutely spoiledΒ me rotten with the most beautiful pink leather bag from Ted Baker; it is just heavenly. It’s two-tone blush pink and baby pink leather, with rose gold detailing and hardware. I couldn’t believe my eyes, I am so thrilled and I am so lucky to have someone who knows me so well.

From my family, I received even more lovely presents. My parents bought me the Elemis Forever Frangipani set from my wishlist, which I am thrilled about – it was sold out everywhere, so claps to them for managing to track it down! It’s my favourite fragrance, so relaxing and uplifting. They also got me some fun little bits to go alongside, like the pretty daisy choker, a Laura Ashley calendar and some other bits I didn’t include in the snap above.

My brother and sister-in-law bought me the fluffiest Thumper pyjamas which I LOVE, and a pretty little sign for our house, while my cousins sent us some mason jar cocktail glasses – can’t wait to christen those…

My mother-in-law went all out and also spoiled me rotten – and I know she reads this, so thank you – I LOVE IT ALL! I got a beautiful floral apron from Anthropologie with the matching oven glove, so I can play at being a domestic goddess in style. She also bought me a Body Shop Vitamin E set, which we all know is my very favourite, including some bits I’ve recently run out of too. The package was finished off with lots of sweets and treats which we’ve been indulging in since we unwrapped them on Christmas morning.

I feel incredibly lucky to have received so many wonderful, thoughtful presents this year and I feel even more grateful to have family and friends that are so loving and generous. Christmas is definitely the most wonderful time of the year!
