My Travel Makeup Bag

If you’ve read my last post, you’ll know that it’s taken me a while to get my head together when it comes to choosing my travel beauty routine. But finally, I think I’ve got my travel makeup bag down. You’ll have seen a lot of these items before but that’s how it goes – only the best can come along when you’ve got limited space! Here’s what always makes the cut when I’m on the go…

I’ve gone back to the trusty Rimmel Fix & Perfect Primer as it makes a great base; it’s not silicone-y and leaves my skin feeling smooth and ready for makeup. A daily essential! In winter, I also love the Bourjois Healthy Mix foundation – it’s healthy, dewy skin in a flash and the slim bottle is great for fitting in those pesky liquid bags at the airport.

I usually use two concealers but when travelling, I only take one. The Collection Lasting Perfection concealer is a great multitasker so it always makes the cut. It’s great for hiding dark circles when the alarm’s gone off earlier than usual, and is guaranteed to mask any redness or blemishes. This tiny tube has huge power!

My favourite highlighter, No.7 Instant Radiance, always comes with me; it’s not a liquid and is in an easy, fuss-free crayon formula, so perfect for on the go glow! One quick swipe and I’ve got radiant skin in seconds! Similarly, the Revlon Photoready Cream Blush in Pinched makes getting a soft, healthy flush simple – and it’s small and easy to pack too. A quick dusting of my favourite Rimmel Match Perfection powder and my makeup’s set for the day.

The Maybelline Brow Satin pencil makes perfectly groomed brows in a flash, and the Soap & Glory Supercat Fat eyeliner pen lets me scribble on winged liner in one quick move. An eyeliner pen is perfect for travelling too as it’s so thin and sleek! I always take the Rimmel ScandalEyes nude eyeliner pencil too, as I often take early morning flights and this helps to disguise tired, red eyes.

I like to take eyeshadow palettes when travelling, as it makes it easy to create different looks for day or night. So many of my palettes are long and bulky, but the Clarins Eye Quartet Mineral Palette in Forest is small and perfectly formed. The shades are ideal for using alone in the daytime or together to create a soft, smoky look. Plus, the formula is buttery soft and super easy to apply.

Finally, I use a travel-size version of Benefit They’re Real lash primer underneath my L’Oreal Lash Architect mascara for thick lashes that stay fluttery all day long!

What’s your travel beauty routine like?
