Barely a day goes by when I’m not dreaming of interior design; it’s my new favourite thing. We’re progressing with decorating our flat fairly quickly, but it’s taking a lot longer to acquire those perfect pieces of furniture or stylish accessories, and that’s purely because quality pieces take a while to save up for. But that won’t stop me dreaming!
In my dream living room, there’ll be one beautiful armchair tucked amongst the sofas, and it’ll look an awful lot like the Geddes armchair. This glamorous grey chair would make the ideal reading nook, and it’s got the midcentury vibe that Lewis and I both love.
We’ve got a slight obsession with chevron prints; we have a dreamy black and white chevron runner in our hallway (with matching ceiling light, natch) and I’m not sure we’re going to stop there. I love the blue and white colourway of this rug; if we go for wooden floorboards in our bedroom (and finally rip up the black carpet!), I’d love these on either side of our bed. It’s not cheap, so it’s a bit of a pipe dream – but it doesn’t mean I love them any less!
Storage is also a key thing that we’re finding we just don’t have enough of, hence three storage picks! I love the idea of a blanket box in the bedroom, or using one as a coffee table, and this diamond-patterned one is just beautiful. I love the grey-blue shade and the pattern is too pretty, it looks gorgeous and is obviously super practical too.
We need a great chest of drawers in the bedroom and I’ve been eyeing a few up for a while now. We’re probably going to go with the Ikea Hemnes because of the price difference (and change those black handles for gold/brass ones!) but for the time being, my heart is all aflutter at the Willow chest from made.com. Huge deep drawers, a sleek finish and that dreamy 60s look again – ticks every box for me!
And finally, we’ve been hunting for a sideboard for our living room, to both stash some clutter in and act as a drinks cabinet too. I really love the look of the Scott sideboard from Swoon Editions, which is pretty much absolutely what I’ve been looking for. I love the hairpin legs as it makes furniture a bit more interesting, and the directional wood on the cabinet adds a cool twist too – and I love the colour!
What have you been hunting for, for your home?
