But First, Coffee
I never used to be much of a coffee drinker, but since trying flavoured syrups in a milky brew I’ve found them much more to my taste!
When the lovely people at Beanies Coffee offered to send me some jars of their flavoured instant coffee to try, my newfound curiosity couldn’t be contained and I couldn’t wait to try some new and exciting flavours. In the end, I went for Double Chocolate (hoping for an intense mocha experience!) and decaf Amaretto Almond and Irish Cream, so that I could comfortably enjoy them later on in the evenings.
The first thing with these coffees is the aroma; I could smell the chocolate one when they were still packaged up in the box! It smells exactly as you’d hope, like there’s chocolate fondants baking in the oven, with a subtle coffee twist – and the taste is gorgeous, all fudgy and luxurious, just what you want at the end of a long day. Beanies recommend serving this as a milkshake or over ice too, so I can’t wait for the warmer weather to try it out!
The Irish Cream decaf also smells amazing, like an intense Baileys, wintry and warming. I have to say that the smell was probably the highlight; it didn’t taste of Irish Cream as much as I thought it would but the aroma was delicious. That said, it was still a really tasty coffee and we both enjoyed it. Again, I think this one would be great to use in other ways; we’re thinking of trying it to spice up a White Russian recipe, something a little different.
Finally, the Amaretto Almond – probably the one I was most excited about as my love for amaretto knows no bounds. I loved this flavour the most for sure; it smelled like rich, sticky marzipan and when brewed, tasted like a fabulous tiramisu. Incredibly indulgent and so delicious – and as I chose the decaf version, a gorgeous way to finish off an evening. Heavenly!
One of the best things about Beanies Coffee (apart from the tastes!) is that you feel like you’re enjoying a really indulgent treat, but actually, all of their flavours are less than 2 calories, and all of them are sugar-free. They’re also vegan-friendly, so suitable for everybody to enjoy. There’s such a huge range of flavours – we’ve actually already tried the Cinder Toffee before and it was amazing – and I can’t wait to try some of the other flavours next. Chocolate Orange, I’ve got my eye on you.
I was sent one of the special offer collections – you can choose any three flavours for £10, and receive a free mug too.
