I am absolutely obsessed with metallics at the moment – especially all things copper and gold. There’s just something about that flash of colour that adds warmth and a touch of glamour to a room, particularly when the interior colour scheme features lots of white and grey, like ours does.

It’s a trend that doesn’t look like it’ll die down anytime soon, so I’ve collated a selection of my favourite metallic picks from the high street, perfect for adding a touch of metallic sheen to any room.

Metallics work best in small doses – I’m definitely not advocating full on gold walls or floors here – but chosen carefully, it looks gorgeous used on statement pieces of furniture. I love this mirrored gold side table for a glamorous art-deco feel in a bedroom or in the corner of a living room, or the copper and marble drinks table for a luxe party vibe.

For smaller accessories, pick up pretty tealight holders or candlesticks to create an opulent look around the room, or metallic photo frames to liven up the picture shelves. Fun accessories like the gold metal letter are great for adding personality too; ours looks great sitting on our sideboard. I love the glitzy copper retro phone for a statement piece, or you can add easy glamour to teatime with the beautiful marble and copper cake stand.

What do you think of the metallics trend?
