The Clinique Pop Lip lipstick collection has been out for quite a while now, but as I recently got my hands on my first pick of the range, I thought I’d share my thoughts! I had a Debenhams gift card to spend and decided the best way to blow it would be in the beauty hall, where the Pop Lip collection caught my eye. I’d remembered seeing so many reviews and posts about the range when it launched and everyone had been raving how about how great the colours were and how comfortable the formula was. I was sold.

Picking a shade was a much trickier decision. Online, ‘Melon Pop’ was the one that I was drawn to – it’s a soft, warm peach with a sheer finish and a slight hint of shimmer. The colour swatches I’d seen were gorgeous, but in person, I felt it was just too similar to a few others in my collection, and looked a little bit warm for my skintone – I don’t want anything that’s going to give the illusion of yellow teeth! So I swatched a few others and fell totally in love with ‘Poppy Pop’ – quelle surprise.

We all know I love a red lip, but this shade is a twist on the classic that means it’s a welcome addition to my lipstick wardrobe. It’s quite similar to my beloved Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet in Le Malicieuse, but with a bit more life in it, if you know what I mean (read: a coral tone). The perfect shade for livening up a laidback makeup look, or going all-out glamour, as the mood takes you.

What everyone tells you about the formula is true – this is legit the most comfortable lipstick I have ever worn. The Pop Lip collection works to combine a primer and colour together, for a super-comfortable, long-lasting finish, and it definitely works for me. It feels like wearing a balm, while the colour payoff is amazing, one quick slick for a full, bright pout. Buttery smooth and so bright, the perfect combination!

Have you tried any of the Clinique Pop Lip range?
