Five Good Things

frocks and flowers uk lifestyle blog london

I thought I’d start with a new little Saturday blog series, just to focus on all the great things that happen every week. So without further ado…

  • This week was my last full week at my job. I’ve been there for over two and a half years now, and it was my first job out of university, so it was the right time to move on. I am delighted that I managed to land an amazing job in fashion PR at an agency I’ve admired for a long time, and I’m super excited to get started next week! Only a couple more days to go…

  • I’ve finally committed to getting on the fitness wagon again, and getting rid of the excess that’s been slowly creeping on over the last few months. I last really committed to this a few years back and felt so great about myself – I basically quit all complex carbohydrates and swapped for healthier alternatives, as well as cutting out junk food, nothing revolutionary here. I felt great about it until I stopped doing it, stupidly. What can I say, I like cake. I’ve also signed up to Results With Lucy, which is super tough but really rewarding and (whispers) actually pretty fun…

  • We’ve finally booked flights to Lewis’ cousin’s wedding in Edinburgh in June, which I am really excited about. It’s been so long since I’ve been to a wedding, and Lewis and I have never actually gone to one together either. I’ve chosen my outfit already – as long as it doesn’t match the bridesmaids, that is! I’m really looking forward to a long weekend in Edinburgh, it’s one of my favourite cities for sure.

  • Simple pleasures this week – my H&M homeware order arrived bright and early on Monday morning, and I am so pleased with my new purchases. I bought a gorgeous gold vase and a gold tray for our cocktail accessories, and I am obsessed with both of them. And I also managed to pick up a set of gold bar accessories in the M&S sale (sold out online), so I’m feeling super pleased with my new little bar corner.

  • I spent last Saturday wandering around west London while I left Lewis in the pub watching football, and had such a good time! I popped into The Bloggers’ Market at The Hoxton Hotel in Holborn, where I picked up two pairs of shoes from the lovely Kristabel for just £5 each(!), before taking a wander through Covent Garden, up through Soho and around Oxford Street, before we met for a celebratory dinner at Jackson + Rye on Wardour Street. It’s days like this that remind me why I love London!
