MY FAVOURITE THINGS
This month I’ve been loving my Una Brennan Superfacialist Salicylic Acid Anti Blemish Clay Mask – I’ve had a pretty dodgy month blemish-wise (must be the stress of starting a new job!) and my skin has been running wild with unexpected and pretty monstrous spots. Luckily, a thick layer of this mask draws out impurities and really helps to brighten and clear skin even on the worst days of the month. I love this stuff!
My Makeup Revolution Radiance Palette has been getting a LOT of use this last month (I’ve actually already hit pan on my favourite shade… whoops!) as it’s perfect for getting that fresh, luminous glow I love. I’ve also rediscovered my love for my Naked3 palette and have been experimenting with the pretty pink shades to create some sparkly looks or subtle smokey eyes.
I picked up the prettiest blue cotton blouse from H&M a few weeks back and I am so in love with it. It’s a loose off-the-shoulder blouse with some pretty ruffles, it’s so gorgeous! Perfect for a sweet vintage springtime look, I can’t wait til the weather’s warm enough to wear it with capri pants and my (also new) white Juno heels.
ITEM OF CLOTHING
I’ve been loving my new floral midi dress from New Look, especially paired with some black suede-esque sixties’ style boots from Primark. I wore this outfit to start my new job earlier this month and I think it’s an outfit that will take me through to summer and beyond!
I’ve only used it a few times as it’s just too pretty for everyday, but my perfect pink Ted Baker bag has been getting a lot of love this month. Now we’re coming into Spring and I’ve been dipping into lighter shades in my outfits, it’s the perfect time to give this beauty an airing!
H&M. I made a small H&M Home order at the start of the month to pick up some gorgeous gold homeware; H&M’s homeware range is always lovely, but the Spring additions are something else – pretty gilt trays and vases, candles and blankets galore, all in the prettiest colours. I’ve also picked up a few pieces at H&M that I’ve been loving, like a really comfy pair of trainers and the blouse I’ve waxed lyrical about earlier.
Don’t judge me for my taste in TV – I have a strong leaning towards reality TV and anything shown on UK Gold. My favourite show this month would probably fall into the latter category at some point in the future: Stella. I absolutely love this show, the fifth series just finished and I’m so disappointed, I looked forward to it every week. It’s witty, light-hearted comedy that always makes me feel good. Can’t wait for the Christmas special!
I’ve been all over The Kills’ new song, Doing It To Death. I’ve been thinking about getting tickets to see them in Shoreditch in a couple of months – I haven’t seem them live since about 2008 so I think it’s due!
FOOD & DRINK
We ate at Jackson + Rye in Soho earlier in the month to celebrate me getting my new job, and we loved it so much we took Lewis’ brother there when he stayed with us at the weekend. The buffalo chicken wings are incredible and the steak is just delicious. Plus, the décor is like a 1930s American joint and it is SO cool. Totally Instagrammable.
Treat-wise this month, I’m going with something I was treated to. My brother-in-law took us to see The Book of Mormon uptown as a treat for having him stay with us. I’ve been looking forward to seeing this for so long and it didn’t disappoint, it was hilarious! Definitely not one for the easily offended but so, so funny and the performances were amazing.
