It’s In The Bag

Don’t we all love nosing around someone else’s handbag? I know I do!

At the moment, my everyday bag is this lush H&M number, you can check out my full post on it here. And it really does get everything thrown in for every day use – luckily it can store a solid amount of stuff as I do end up chucking everything in, including a few bits and pieces not shown in these photos.

A purse is, of course, a must – even though I hardly ever carry cash. I got this blush pink one from Accessorize last year and I’m still a fan, it’s so roomy without being bulky, and has more than enough room for my cards and change. It’s not available any more, but this one’s pretty similar.

Keys are pretty self-explanatory, adorned with various tatty old keyrings, including a gloriously tacky gold Eiffel Tower that I bought on our first trip to Paris. My phone is an iPhone 4S, which I have dressed up in a navy and gold polka dot Joules case, and which I cannot wait to upgrade in the summer.

I always have at least two options for lipstick in my bag – generally a daytime-friendly nude pink, and a more flamboyant colour for evening, either red or bright pink. In these pictures I have the L’Oreal Exclusive Pink lipsticks in Naomi and Blake, perfect for slicking on in my little Hugo Boss mirror anytime of the day. I also have a Body Shop Frosted Plum lip balm, which I got for Christmas. It’s such a strange smell – soapy but sweet – but it does the job for rehydrating my lips while I’m out and about. I’m fairly sure this was just a seasonal scent but the Born Lippy pots are pretty similar.

I keep my MOO business cards in my bag as you never know who you’re going to meet, and I do like to tell people about this little corner of the internet if the opportunity arises. My Oyster card is housed in this fetching gold case from Accessorize, and is a necessity for living in London.

Nail maintenance is like a full time job for me, so I always keep a double-sided emery board handy for on-the-move manicures, finished off with a blob of the Body Shop Frosted Plum hand cream, which is just so lovely to use. Again, a seasonal fragrance but there are others in the range too, like this Strawberry one.

Last, but definitely not least, is this black and white star-print umbrella from Pierre Cardin, by way of TK Maxx. It’s strong and sturdy, and is one of those ones which goes up when you push the button on the handle, which gives me no end of joy. Simple pleasures.
