Whoops… I appear to have skipped a week! Let’s make this a combo – five good things from the last fortnight!
First up, I was very lucky to be sent an Instax Mini polaroid camera (in pink, of course) to work on a project here on this very blog. I am thrilled with my new toy, as I’d been planning to purchase one anyway, and have been taking lots of cute snaps over the last couple of weeks! I’m now on the hunt for a cute frame to hold all of the polaroids and show them off in the house – failing that, maybe a peg line display will do the job.
I’ve been doing a fair bit of shopping now Spring has finally sprung – ASOS hasn’t known what’s hit it! I’ve picked up two new pairs of jeans, in black and blue denim and a striped Breton body to pair with them for a sleeker silhouette than my usual oversized Breton. I’ve been looking for a few statement tops to pair with jeans too, to make quick dressing much easier in the morning. I picked up this white kimono-style top from ASOS, which looks sleek with black jeans and pumps, as well as a ruffled black cold-shoulder top and this amazing denim ruffled Bardot top, both from Boohoo.
I’ve had some holiday time confirmed at work, which means we can finally get planning for our summer holiday underway! At the moment we’re toying between Croatia, Barcelona, Seville or maybe even one of the Balearics… decisions, decisions.
We’re also planning lots of fun trips and weekends away too, which is always exciting. Alongside our trip to Edinburgh in June for a family wedding, we’re also looking at visiting more family back in Aberdeen, taking the train to Glasgow to see friends, a UK city break – maybe Manchester or York – and while Lewis is in Budapest with friends in the summer, I’m thinking a spa weekend with some of my girlfriends too.
This weekend is likely to be a lazy one, with just a visit to Topshop and framing some artwork planned, but last Saturday was a standout one. I fancied a day out up west, so we took the train to Fulham and took a very long and lovely walk up towards Chelsea, including a wander around the magical Old Brompton cemetery. We stopped for a delicious lunch in the MIC favourite, the Bluebird, which I absolutely loved. Not so expensive you’d weep at the bill, but fancy enough that it felt like a bit of a treat! Luckily the weather was lovely, so we walked up towards Kensington, before taking a wander through Kensington Gardens so Lewis could see the Albert Hall and the Memorial, up to Notting Hill Gate and down through Holland Park to Kensington Church Street. We wrapped up the day by travelling from South Kensington to Covent Garden, to grab a cupcake from the Primrose Bakery and one of my favourite Blueberry Muffin cocktails. A perfect Saturday!
