Five Good Things #7

Frocks and Flowers UK Life and Style Blog Two Days in Amsterdam City Break

It’s been another hectic week (so much so that I’m publishing this at 8pm on Saturday night instead of 8am Saturday morning…) but it’s been great and Spring is looking full of promise. Here’s what’s been making me smile this week:

It’s a bank holiday weekend, of course! There’s no better kind of weekend. So far, I’ve spent it having a huuuuge lie-in (hello, 11am) and a walk around the forest near our flat, getting some fresh air and putting the world to rights. Sometimes the most laidback days are the very best.

We’re also seeing our friends this weekend, which makes for a very happy time indeed. Last night was spent celebrating my bestie Kirsty’s birthday in a cute cocktail bar in Spitalfields, while tomorrow we’re planning to head out for bottomless brunch… I know right?! Check out my Instagram for updates on that…

We’ve been making lots of travel plans this week and making dates for the next few months. The first thing we’ve booked is a trip to Aberdeen for a few weeks’ time, and I am really looking forward to it. It’s the perfect opportunity to get away for a few days and spend time with both of our families and friends too.

We’ve also booked our summer holiday this weekend – in September we’ll be saying hola to Barcelona! We are both dying for a proper summer holiday (the last one was 3 years ago) and we can’t wait for a few days of solid sun, great food and exploring a new city.

It’s been a pretty stressful working week with a lot going on for me, but one of the best things is coming home to a calm house and a relaxing environment, and Lewis of course. I’ve been taking the edge off of hectic days with my absolute favourite Cowshed Lazy Cow candles, episodes of The Tunnel and an endless supply of Twining’s tea. Perfect.
