So I appear to have left a couple of weeks in between this post and my last one – but what can I say?? I’ve mixed in highlights from the last couple of weeks instead, here’s what’s been going on…

These last couple of weeks have been great for catching up with everyone we love the most. After my last post, we spent an evening with my family, before jetting up to Aberdeen to spend the bank holiday with Lewis’. Not only that, but I also got to catch up with my best girl and meet some new people too! Spending time with so many of our friends and loved ones kind of hits home how isolated we are here in London sometimes, with everyone spread so far apart, so it feels really important to have weekends like that. I can’t wait for the next one in a couple of weeks’ time!

Another example of this is last weekend, when Lewis and I spent Saturday night hanging out with one of his oldest friends, who’s down here for work at the moment. We headed to the Hawker House street feast, which I’ve been wanting to tick off my London bucket list for a long while now – it’s the same as Dinerama in Shoreditch, except it’s in Canada Water, which is much easier for us to get to! We had a great night of seriously delicious food and wine and left feeling really good – spontaneous nights like that just make me a much happier person.

Lewis was away with work most of last week so I took the opportunity to start doing something I’ve been putting off for a while. When I’m in the house on my own, there’s no excuse! I started planning out the book that’s been in my head for months, if not years, at this point. I’m hoping it’s the start of something for me…

It’s been a fun week at work this week, with lots of different things going on. In this job I’m getting to do a lot of fun stuff I haven’t had much opportunity to do before, like model castings and assisting on fashion shoots – and next week I’m taking a bunch of fabulous journalists to Royal Ascot for the day too! It’s been a good week – any week where I’m not at my desk for the full 40 hours makes a real difference in my view, I love getting out and about!

The weather has finally picked it up a notch, and I’ve been really enjoying banishing my jeans to the back of the wardrobe and picking out dresses and skirts I haven’t worn in months! My tan still isn’t reaching the great caramel depths of my dreams but I’m slathering on gradual tan in the hopes that it will soon… I love dressing at this point in the year, when it’s warm enough to wear something pretty and feel comfortable, but it’s a point that only lasts a few weeks before the heat and humidity get unbearable and I don’t want to wear anything at all! We’ll cross that bridge when we come to it, but for now I’m loving maxis and midi dresses galore, paired with sandals and pretty accessories. Plus I can always find room in my wardrobe for a few more summer style staples!
