If there’s one thing that’s guaranteed to pique my interest, it’s talk of a suits-all skincare product with something a little different to offer. So when the press release for The Hero Project skincare skidded into my inbox, I was intrigued straightaway. A British brand of skincare, packed with vitamins and acids and promising to deliver incredible results? I had to try them out for myself!

I was lucky enough to receive The Hero Project’s flagship products, the Hyasoft Instant Moisture Boost and the Glow Drops. Both products were beautifully packaged in their boxes; I don’t know about you, but I love this, it always feels so much more elegant to have boxed products to me. I also loved the descriptions; this is a brand that takes the way it wants to be seen seriously!

The Hyasoft Instant Moisture Boost (£19) is a thick, clear gel, designed to be used underneath your moisturiser to deliver an instant, hard-hitting dose of hydration to parched skin. It’s packed with skincare favourite hyaluronic acid and vitamin B5, and promises to lock in moisture to restore skin to a “touchably plump” complexion.

If there’s one thing I love, it’s a seriously hydrating moisturiser, and I was seriously impressed with this one. The gel is thick and clear, but wasn’t greasy in the slightest, making it incredibly quick and easy to apply. I smoothed on before using my usual moisturiser and noticed a difference immediately; the combination of ingredients works to soothe and calm the skin as well as hydrate, so my face looked and felt soft and fresh and totally ready for my makeup and the day ahead. The Hyasoft gel felt gentle to use – so important for my sensitive skin! – and I was really impressed with the results. I can definitely see this becoming a part of my regular beauty arsenal for sure – especially when my skin needs a little extra love!

Next up, the Glow Drops (£21) –  a dry-touch facial oil, again packed with vitamins and this one with 10 natural essential oils. I loved the glass bottle this is housed in (with a dropper and clever dimple at the bottom to suck up every last drop!), and at 30ml it’s a really generous size, but you can still take it on flights. The Glow Drops oil promises to restore skin’s natural luminosity, nourish and brighten the skin and smooth fine lines – a tall order for just one product.

I wasn’t at all sure about using a dry oil on my face, especially pre-makeup, but how wrong I was. My first try-out of this product was pre-bedtime, and it left me with such a gorgeous glow that I felt it was a waste to go to sleep!! So I had to try it out in the daytime too, to be sure it wasn’t a one-off, or a trick of the light. I was so impressed; a couple of drops of this beautiful oil left me with soft, glowing skin that wasn’t at all greasy or slippery to the touch. I applied makeup straight after, without a primer to put it to the ultimate test, and I loved the way my makeup sat all day. It absorbs so quickly and leaves the skin soft and supple, with an Instagram-worthy glow – I think I can safely say that I’ve found a new favourite! Plus it smells amazing too, just a total delight to use.
