I’m getting to that age where more and more of my friends are buying their own homes and making their own little nests, so gifts for the home are becoming more popular in my little set. It can be difficult picking presents to suit somebody else’s style but if you go for small accessories or thoughtful purchases, it’s such a nice gift to give.
If your friend/relative is a keen interiors bug and wants to give their home a total revamp, ‘Design Bloggers At Home’ (£19.99) is a great read and is full of inspiration from leading interiors bloggers, packed with tips to help them give their home a chic new look. Start them off on their path to a perfect pad with a planter filled with some stylish greenery – this copper one is just £18 and so beautiful!
Gone are the days when giving a gift for the kitchen was a faux pas! Particularly lovely if your recipient is a host/hostess with the most/mostest, kitchen accessories are super thoughtful and add a touch of glam to the home. These gold salad servers (£12.99) are fun and rather fabulous, or if they fancy themselves as a bit of a mixologist, you can’t go wrong with some glam gold barware! The Biba range at House of Fraser is great for this; I especially love the gold cocktail shaker (£20), paired with the matching tools (£24) to properly get the party started.
Hygge is a huge thing this year (in case you’ve been living under a rock and hadn’t noticed), and if your recipient loves nothing more than getting cosy and snuggling down for the afternoon, there’s some lovely gift ideas out there. Everybody has a particular cup that’s their favourite, so why not give them one that’s a joy to look at too? I love this gold printed one with matching saucer (£12) which is so elegant! A posh candle is another hygge cliche but one that we would all love to receive; my particular current favourite is this ‘Heart of Gold’ Katie Loxton candle (£22), which smells deliciously of champagne and peony, and is housed in the most beautiful gold and white glass jar. Guaranteed to raise a smile this Christmas, who doesn’t love an excuse to cosy up for the afternoon?
